I'm going to complain....cautiously

Let me start off by saying: I know how the internet works.

I know that anything and everything I put onto this blog will be here for years to come. And that in the future, 1 year from now or 20, it will be used to judge me.

Because of that, I'm always cautious about what I put on here, or indeed any website.

So, in this post I'm going to complain. Or, at least, go over what my complaints were at the time. And then I'm going to systematically go through and berate myself for all my complaining.

Yesterday was our local "Jr. Miss" pageant. You know the type: 3-14 year old girls get pranced around the stage to a bunch of "Oooo"s and "Ahhh"s. Normally, this type of event would be several months past before I ever knew it existed. Not in this case, though. In this case, I was asked to come and help run the spotlight. I agreed, fairly certain at the time what I would actually be doing for the show. And I was right: I became the Lightning Director and Sound Engineer.

Well. I guess I'm in school.

Hey all,

Last Monday (Feb. 28) I started my first class. Which means that I officially have some direction in life. It's a strangely exhilarating experience, after almost two years of stagnation to actually have something I HAVE to get out of bed for.

If you haven't been keeping up with Water and Shade, there's a couple of new posts worth looking at. The most recent is a podcast all about me. The other is a video of me un-boxing my Mac. So go enjoy those.

May you find water and shade.

I have the most wonderful sister.

Hey all,

I thought I'd just let everyone know how amazingly wonderful my sis is. Of the two of us, she's the one going to school, the first to actually prepare for college, and the one that has a job. And yet, she was willing to help me out - BIG time.

See, I'm finally getting my ducks in a row and trying to start a college program. The one that i want to get in to will start at the end of this month. But to get in, I have to first apply. And that requires an application fee. Which I didn't have, until she offered to pay it for me.

So, yeah. She's awesome.

And if you're interested, here's her blog.

Love you,. sis!!

May you find water and shade.

New Year - New.....well...nothing, really.

Today is the second day of 2011 so far it’s a whole lot like 2010.

Jereth came home yesterday. He’s hooked up to so many different machines that he wasn't able to go to church today, and Dad stayed home with him. i don't know what to think about it anymore. We keep hearing different opinions on when he should get the hole in his heart fixed, and it seems like every new doctor that shows up changes his treatments. GAHH.

Church was surprisingly stressful for me today. Winter/Spring semesters are starting, and many people are heading back to school. It kinda shined a light on how fruitless I'm being. And this blasted introspection isn't helping, either.

Gah. I need to go do something.
